Andrew's Sun

With the beautiful weather we have been having I can't help but think of Andrew and Kathlena running through the yard in the warm sun. Today especially I have been replaying in my mind those first precious moments of seeing Andrew and watching him draw his sun for us for the first time. I have framed that little picture of Andrew's sun...it will always be one of my most beloved pieces of art. I look forward to the day when we are able to teach Andrew of the mighty, all powerful God who created that sun, who brought Andrew into our lives, and who sent His perfect Son, Jesus to die for our salvation. When I think of all of the things Andrew could have drawn for us yet, he chose the sun in a place where the warmth of the sun is not often felt against the cold wind and snow. The sun that breaks darkness into light each day...I cannot wait to tell him of the Son that shatters the darkness of sin and gives eternal life and to teach Andrew the riches of God's Word...the true light of this world.
I miss that sweet smile of Andrew's and pray that as he walks to school and looks up at the same sun I am seeing today that in his soul the Lord comforts and speaks to him that he is not forgotten by his heavenly father nor his earthly family, that his family loves and misses him and will soon be coming to take him and Kathlena home.
